We covered it with dirt, which we thought would put it out. When the smoke still came through the dirt, we started pouring water on it, and it became a small volcano. With steam and smoke rising out the top.

I thought this was interesting enough that I grabbed the camera, we eventually put it out with massive amounts of water.
