BOG will be 20 years old in 1998. It is a club with about 150 members who are interested in collecting minerals and stones, and others who are generally interested in geology at different levels. The club has it's own quarters in Sandviken (23 Sandviksboden), and has several meetings each month, where the members discuss minerals, attend to lectures, or just have a small talk over a cup of coffee. We also arrange other courses, and have a number of collecting-trips every year. BOG arranged the Nordic Stone and Mineral Exhibition in 1984, and is looking forward to having another chance to show the innhabitants of Bergen and other visitors, the many beautiful things which can be found in our mountains, and what can be carved out of them. BOG will have an information stand at the exhibition. The 1998 exhibition is in the Arenum, with good parking opportunities and easy public access and transport, giving everybody a chance to visit this interesting show.
