Who is Eric Haver?

Eric Haver was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in
1954.
He first became acquainted with computers in 1969, at
the University of Pittsburgh, while playing hooky from Schenely High
School. In 1974 he earned an Associates of Specialized Business from
the Institute of Computer Management. While studying for a Computer
Science degree at the Community College of Allegheny County, his
fascination for juggling led him to drop out of school.
In 1978 he began traveling as a street performer, from
Jamaica to Canada. He followed the Sun for three years.
He returned to Pittsburgh and studied electronics at
Penn Technical Institute, where he earned an Associates of
Specialized Business. He began playing with microcomputers; first
the TI/99, then the Commodore64. He had just studied all of the
needed circuitry when the IBM-PC was announced in 1981. He worked
initially as a Commodore-64 salesman and quickly became a locally
recognized Commodore expert. He was fascinated with the Macintosh,
but found more programming jobs in the IBM-PC world. His company,
Eric Haver Consulting Services (EHCS pronounced X as in Brand X)
opened in 1985, incorporated in 1988.
In 1990, after being acquainted with a computer
keyboard for over 20 years, he learned how to type. Typing became
another fascination. How beautiful it is to see the words appear on
the screen, almost as fast as they can be thought.
He sold the firm in 1992, bought a School Bus, rebuilt
it as mobile home, and 'Hit the Road' again to write the Great
American Novel. One year later he was back to street performing. By
coupling the love of language with the love of travel, he went to
Europe for the first time in 1994. The first two years he performed
Summers in France and Winters in Florida. At the end of the Season in
1996 he decided to stay in Europe; and has worked in Holland,
Belgium, Switzerland, France, Spain and Greece. Today, he speaks
German and French fluently, and is able to do shows in Spanish and
Greek.
1995 had brought another fascination to light, Magic.
To be good at Slight-of-Hand requires a lot of dogged determination.
He began mixing Magic into his street shows. By 2001, he had tired of
traveling and settled in Karlsruhe, Germany, doing private parties
and area festivals.
In the Fall of 2001, came an opportunity to go on-line
and since then, his dogged determination, previous computer
experience, and the cold German winter have helped this fascination
grow.

1995 lernt er die Faszination der Zauberei kennen. In
Fingerfertigkeit gut zu sein benötigt eine Menge Hartnäckigkeit. Er fing an
die Zauberei in seine Straßenshows zu integrieren. 2001 ermüdetet ihn das Reisen
und er beschloss in Karlsruhe, Deutschland zu bleiben. Er arbeitete auf Privatfeiern
und Festivals.
Im Herbst 2001, kam eine Gelegenheit, online zu gehen. Seine
Computererfahrung und der kalte Deutsche Winter haben dieser Faszination mit
Computern zu arbeiten geholfen weiter zu wachsen.
Aktuelle Faszinationen umfassen: Das Lernen der modernen OOP-Sprachen, DHTML, JavaScript,
Video Verarbeiten und diese Web Site.
