Hunger, frustration and the universe

Ok, so here i am, beginning to get slightly hungry now.  It's my own fault, though.  Well, actually, it's the fault of my computing assignment.  And I know I picked that, but I didn't know at the time how evil it was going to be!  And you'd think that the people who wrote this would have the decency to give us the density of the Universe at given times throughout history, rather than just go "Oh, it's probably on Wikipedia or something" rather blaise.  EVIL PEOPLE!

I have spent the majority of the morning in one computer lab entering all the search parameters I can think of into google to obtain density values, but all I get is the critical density - I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT - I DON'T NEED IT! - or the density timeline in terms of.... you've guessed it.....

time.

Well, DUH!

Ok, sometimes they came with temperature too, but that wasn't very helpful either! I was certainly not expecting it to be so hard, especially when Mike said, "Oh, no, you just Google it and it's the first thing that comes up."  Ok, maybe for you, Mike, but why isn't it workig for me (no offence intended, Mike, by the way)???

I am prone to blame the school computer system.  Why not.  After all, they won't let me get onto Google.com, just link through straight away to Google.co.uk.  What if I want to go to Google.com, you stupid computer!  I don't care that America is taking away our Britishness, I want to search on Google.com, damnit!

And then there's the stupid program for calculating Mercury's rotation.  Well, I suppose the fact that it does it all in real time is good practice for when we're real astronomers and the like, but it certainly doesn't help when you've got to switch sessions to run your computing assignment 26 times because you were a total idiot and entered 10e10 everywhere, instead of 1e10.

Can I just interrupt my ranting to say:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

???

And I haven't eaten since 7 - a rather pitiful bowl of dry cereal (if you weren't already aware, milk is horrible).  Bum.  Instead I've sat a computer screen since about 9, getting more and more frustrated.

Right, I think my pulse has finally come back (11 minutes doesn't sound too long until you have to send about 5 pulses and are hungry and want to leave the building before your lecture finishes and then your lecturer sees you skivving.  Although I'm sure he's aware I'm skivving.  Steph's behind me at the moment, also skivving.  And Tuesday computing group have got to hand theirs in tomorrow.  I'm Thursday, but I'm going home tomorrow for a hospital appt, after labs, which I also need to write up.  Bother!)

Hmm.... maybe Elo's right and I do waffle too much.  But right now I'd like to point out that this is ranting so not quite the same.

Ah well.  Fortran (sniggers from all comp, engineering and maths students.  Yes we Physicists are retarded and use Fortran.  It makes pretty colours), here I come.

Yours sincerely,
