

Eat right, It takes two to diet.
That's right. For every pleasantly plump carrot and lettuce-challenged Jew, there's at least one person who recommends one more helping of tzimmes, schmaltz, and kugel.
That works the other way as well. Every successful dieter benefits from one or more physicians, loved ones or a spouse, who offer encouragement without being nudniks. In other words, don't try to diet by yourself.
Oh, there are certainly some exceptional people who have the fortitude to begin and maintain a diet without additional or outside encouragement. More power to them. They are not the focus of this article.
Dieting requires a constant renewal of energy. There is always a drive to take another tiny nibble. A second person acting as a Jiminy Cricket may be able to offer the necessary helpful encouragement.
