Take counsel together
Yet it shall come to naught
Speak the word
and it shall not stand firm
for with us is G-d
- Isaiah 8:10

Everybody has ideas about dating. This section will present one consistent approach that may not necessarily reflect the quotation on this page.

All of this advice means that there are excellent reasons for benefiting from the services of a confidant.

Well-meaning friends are likely to give you a great deal of conflicting advice:

Yes, you can use time-honored phrases to give just about any kind of advice. As a result, you wouldn't be able to follow everybody's advice even if you wanted to.

Perhaps one of the two options in our example above is correct. Perhaps neither example is correct, and you should consider a third option.

Others who are more influential, persuasive or forceful, will want to push through their own point of view. Their pressure should not be a reason to marry any person.

You can't sort out the advice from all of these people and personalities by yourself. You are too closely involved in the situation. Only a person who has been very closely involved in your decisions and personal situation can help you sort out the advice.

Where do you want to go now?
