


There are other yoyo fads besides those listed in this section.
They sign up for the latest fad program. The leader of the group convinces them to stop, cold turkey. Many of them believe that they might be able to avoid cigarettes. Most of them can't handle the urge. Nearly all of them go back to smoking - sometimes more than ever.
People are convinced to go on a crash diet, and they do indeed lose a great deal of weight in a small amount of time. They tell all of their (previous?) friends about their achievements. Soon after, many of them regain their weight, and they may weigh more than before dieting.
Some people try out different dieting plans. It is very hard indeed to work in the same office as those people, or to be friendly with them.
People are not yoyos. We should not be treated like yoyos. People can change, but the process is different from the way that a yoyo works.
