"Hey, you actually have computers here?"
"No, actually we live in a jungle. Israel doesn't have real things like you have back home. We manage as well as we can, eating bananas and nuts. We actually use tin cans as our primary means of communication. We don't make those tin cans here. We kind of have them shipped over to us in your Care packages. Thank you for sending us those cans. We attach string to the two ends and that's how we communicate with each other. We have a lot of tin cans going to a lot of people.
Since we're so backward, you really shouldn't expect us to have any of those modern things that you have back home. You call it "technology," right? After all, Israel is an ancient country, and Jews managed just fine without that kind of stuff while we walked through the desert for forty years, so there's no reason for us to get out of our rut.
That's what it's like being the eternal people. We really don't have to be worried about your newfangled modern things.
Strange that we're not even jealous.
Oh, by the way, if you really want to experience the jungle, come back during the summer vacation from school. That's when the vilda chayas are let loose."
