Many people come to Israel, stayed for some time, and then leave. They waste their time and Israel's money by trying it out.

Over the course of time, I made a small, informal, unscientific study. That study is the basis for the other articles in this section. If you want the official line, prepared by important researchers with impressive titles, then stop reading here. If you want to know what I have seen after many decades of being involved in and observing the Aliyah scene, then read on.

I found that it is possible to predict who will remain in Israel and who will leave. That is a rather bold statement to make, especially since the brazen statements in this website features the following critical flaws:

• They are not based on a formal scientific study
• They have not been checked against a control group
• No standard scientific methods were employed
• No records were kept
• No statistical research methods were used
• The conclusions are subjective and based on the contacts of a single individual
• That individual was known for his involvement in Israeli issues, so the data is tainted
• The facts were stored in that person's brain, which is no more reliable than yours, especially when relating to issues that happened more than 24 hours ago

Are you still willing to read, despite those caveats?

Analyzing the Olim

Those who come to Israel can be divided into two groups:

• Those who come to Israel to try it out, for any reason.
  • In effect, they want to personally carry out the research that is lacking in this document
  • Each one represents an important case study
  • They may love the country. I hope they will continue to love it after their experiment fails
  • They may want to determine whether they can manage in Israel
  • They may want to determine whether they can live with the problematic economy, bureaucracy, and social structure
• Those who declare that they are Israelis, and that they will live in Israel
  • Their preparation, thoughts, and ideas are based upon their new home
  • Their decisions are not based or dependent upon difficulties, likes, attraction, or other issues
  • If those issues do exist, they are irrelevant to the actual move

The second type of person prepares for the big move in a manner that is ostensibly the same as the first person.

The only difference is the attitude.
