The concept of territory in Israel can be matched in no other region in the world.

The Bible clearly states that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish People, and it is our eternal homeland.

Granted, there have been extended periods of time during Jewish history in which this was not the case. However, this promise will be fulfilled in the time of the Messiah.

On the other hand, the Arab population believes that nothing is more important than land. Their holy writings forbid the transfer of land to othrs. They are willing to make any sacrifice in order to assure that Israeli land remains in their hands. Agreements about giving away land are only temporary. They intend to break the agreement as soon as possible, in order to regain the land that had been given away.

Since Arabs and Jews both live in the same land, we face a constant (tug of) war.

There are some additional twists:

Small parts of today's Land of Israel were not part of the Biblical Land of Israel, whereas other very large parts of the Land of Israel are now part of Arab countries
Some parts of Biblical Israel are disputed among Jews. It is not clear whether those areas were part of the Biblical Land of Israel

Tour guides frequently announce that although everybody considers certain religious or Biblical sites to be authentic, modern research has shown this to be incorrect.

Yes, conflicts and contradictions are common.
