During the war I happened to travel on a bus that had come from Haifa. This was in the beginning of the war. But I took it from a point that was further on in the route. It was the beginning of the war in the north and Haifa is in the north. I was very surprised to discover that the bus was not filled with people scurrying to leave Haifa. To the contrary, there was plenty of room on the bus and those passengers on the bus seemed to be very calm. This was in contrast to the reports that Haifa itself had been attacked including several buildings that had collapsed that very day as a result of missiles that had struck them. People seemed to be very calm and accepting about this.

Our enemy in the north was Hizballah and we had a difficult time fighting them.

Hizballah

Hizballah is very much like a mosquito.

Mosquitoes are annoying so you try to give them a good potch. They do their best to escape, so it might take a bit of effort until you can actually give the mosquito the potch. The Hizballah mosquito then escapes and threatens you again, seeming to say "n'yeh n'yeh n'yeh," but you put out press releases that say that you showed him, that the next time he tries to bother you you'll really make him suffer.

That doesn't really matter too much to Hizballah and he comes right back again and annoys you again. This time you hit Hizballah so hard that your hand hurts, but he escapes again and announces to the world that he was the winner.

He's right.

Now your hand hurts and Hizballah is going around making fun of you. You try to get him again the next time he bothers you and you do hit him but you don't manage to kill him. Hizballah flies away and he's a bit weakened but he's still flying around and you still haven't been able to stop him.

In the meantime he gives birth to some very healthy mosquitoes.

Where do you want to go now?
