


People from the Diaspora seem to feel that their world is "real" and that Israel is a kind of fantasy. They expect people who live in Israel to grow up at some point and to return to the Real World.
Some people suffer more scorn or derision than others, but all immigrants from Western countries face questions about why they would actually want to intentionally stay in Israel.
Friends and relatives of those who stay in Israel for more than two or three years start to whisper behind their back. Israelis are not supposed to hear those whispers, so this website will take the liberty of transcribing them for its readers.
Obviously, there's something wrong with anybody who plans to move to Israel for more than an "acceptable" amount of time. Perhaps you've moved for one of the following reasons:
Immigrants from Western countries will have to defend themselves for their senseless and absurd crime for a long time to come. They have to explain their reasons to their family, their extended family, their friends, and (or so it seems) to the entire United States of America.
