But what would happen if they would protest and it would succeed? They would either bring down the government and thereby change the policy or the government would stay in power, but because of their violent demonstrations, they have succeeded in changing the policy.
The policy, the problem may or may not be avoided or fixed up, but in so doing they will have created a different problem and it is wrong to solve one problem by creating another one.
They will have shown the opposition party that violence succeeds. That you can win by violence. That you can get your way.
The next time that the opposition has something that they want, they will say look at that, these people achieved what they wanted by violence. Now we have something that we want. We're going to get what we want. We are going to use violence. And the country will turn into a violent state.
