Let's start with the official line, before we prove that it is wrong.
Supposedly, the leftist parties believe in appeasement in order to achieve peace with the Arab states. Both Right and Left have variable concepts regarding other issues such as the economy. These concepts seem to be negotiable based upon the current political situation.
As elections draw near, each party tries to demonstrate to a skeptical electorate that they do indeed have plans, policies, and directions. Those directions are far more defined when they are in the opposition. The summary position is that they want to do the opposite of the incumbent party which botched the job so successfully.
The Rightist government presents tough but cheap talk about larger territory without appeasement to the Arabs.
Thus, leftist policies are implemented during during the incumbency of the right. Does that mean that you should vote for the party that verbally opposes the policies of your choice?
The period before the coming of the Mashiach is supposed to be filled with confusion. This was predicted in the Torah portion of Nitzavim. Does our difficulty in voting herald the coming of the Mashiach?
