Many people who read this series of articles in this section will handle the material in a pat way.
They will simply reject it saying, well it's clear from what you are writing that you are just a leftist. A rightist would not say these things. That is, of course, a very easy way to avoid thinking about the issues clearly. It might even be a way of avoiding the question and changing the point of discussion to a discussion of what is left and right. What are they really?
The need to avoid being called a leftist has caused a situation by which many people have just stopped thinking. They are afraid to be pigeon-holed incorrectly.
They do not think whether the target should be G-d or the government. They place their energy into thinking about whether what they are doing fits in to a different pigeon-hole - that of being right or left.
We would probably all agree that an ideology of left and right should be based upon more than pat phrases. It should be a way of achieving a goal rather than - the ends - rather than simplistic gestures that represent the means.
The true rightist or the true leftist puts in enough thought to be able to understand what he is trying to achieve and the goes about the best way to achieve his ultimate goals in the most effective way.
In an over-politicized country everybody likes to feel that they "belong" to a certain political party. Once they have found the party of which they approve, they allow the party to control them. They blithely follow the party dictates without thinking about right or wrong.
It is strange. After all, Israel is comprised of many fine thinkers. The average IQ level must be higher than of most other countries in the world.
Yet, when it comes to issues about politics, this high IQ is put asdie or perhaps forgotten as people allow their political party to do their thinking for them.
This page does not imply that people should put aside their political differences. Everybody should have their own direction and everybody should try to achieve it.
This page doe srecommend a new concept: That people should think.
There just isn't enough of that going around today.
