Israel is not for everybody.
Of course, some Diaspora Jews become defensive when others raise the issue of aliyah. They feel the need for ready excuses in order to rationalize their existence in the Diaspora.
Those excuses often follow an interesting pattern:
It is not hard for people to develop these excuses. After all, Israel is a difficult and expensive place in which to live.
It's not for everybody.
