    Israelis do believe in miracles.
It's a strange thing. When we hear or read about terrible things that are impending people don't usually give up hope or give up faith. They don't worry about that happening. They may react impulsively, but a more likely reaction is to announce that it won't happen.
This is not a unique Israeli form of denial. This is a belief in miracles.
The fact is that Israelis do face many miracles all the time. It is a land of miracles. As a result, when something difficult, bad, or problematic is impending, perhaps it is only natural to expect another miracle to occur at the very last minute in order to remove or extinguish the impending difficulty or problem.
Is it rational to believe in miracles? Perhaps for most people it isn't, but for Israelis it is the most rational and logical thing in the world. Does this mean that somebody can just come to Israel and expect Israel to fix up their problems?
Of course not.
You cannot demand miracles. Their occurrence is determined by a Greater Force. You cannot expect them to come at your convenience.
You can pray for miracles. You can get used to miracles. You can even begin to expect them. But you cannot come to Israel with your problem and demand miracles.
It doesn't work that way.
Don't rely on miracles
