There are many reasons for you to want to to lose in the lottery. Losing is sometimes winning, and winning is sometimes losing.
Some people who have won the lottery have been embarrassed by their sudden riches. They may go to great extremes to prevent others from knowing about it. They want to hide the fact that they have won the lottery. As a result, it may be difficult for them to deal with it. They don't want to spend it ostentatiously, because they do not want to alienate their friends.
Others who have won the lottery have lost their self-respect. Since they suddenly had a windfall of money, they quit their jobs. Without having something to do every day, they lost out on many of the social issues and benefits in life.
They no longer felt a reason to get up in the morning. Ultimately, they lost their self-respect. Others no longer had a purpose or meaning in life. Since they had so much money, they had no reason to work towards anything. This placed them in a category that was different from their peers. Their neighbors led more exciting lives than they did. Their single excitement when they won the lottery wore off, and after that nothing important seemed to happen to them. They became boring people, and some of them had no reason to live.
Losing the lottery means that you don't have to face these problems. Losing might be winning.
