Those who are blessed with an abundance of adipose tissue suffer more from Israeli heat than others.
Israel never suffers from the biting, severe, nippy cold that is described in terms of intensifiers such as the wind chill factor. As a result, Israelis who do go to certain locations abroad may find that the cold bothers them more than it affects those local residents. After being used to the Israeli heat, it's hard to deal with the cold abroad.
Many Israelis walk around with heavy jackets during the Israeli "winter," while those of us who are blessed with natural padding sport-short sleeved shirts. We never understand why others feel that it is cold in the winter, and the surrounding, lithe Israelis laugh at us for not bundling up for their chilly evenings.
We deserve some sympathy from pregnant women, who suffer a similar, although temporary fate. However, people are more into advice than understanding.
And that only makes it worse.
