Timing is everything, they say.
Well, not everybody says that. Some people argue that Location is everything. Others argue that other factors are everything. It depends whom you regard as your source.
Is this the best time to move to Israel? Is my timing right? Should I postpone my Aliyah until some time in the future?
That question is always raised in Aliyah circles. It's also raised by my clients in my computer consultancy. "Is this the right time to buy a computer, or should I wait until next year, when they will have better and more exciting things?"
Inevitably, the answer must perforce by "no."
No, it's not the right time to buy your computer. No, it's not the right time to make Aliyah. It's never the right time. There will never be a "right" time until the Mashiach arrives. In the meantime, you should drop out of your dream world and work towards something realistic. Israel is not for you.
Let's face it. Israel will always have crises and tragedies. They are almost predictable. There will always be political, security, military, and economic upheavals. If there haven't been any of these issues within a few days of reading this article, then watch out. It's certainly on its way.
No, it's not the right time to come to Israel. If you're planning to come to Israel, then just come. If you're looking for the "right" time, then cancel your plans for moving to Israel.
That time will never come. Sorry.
