


Everybody will give you advice on what to bring to Israel. Most of the advice will come from people who have not made aliyah themselves, so you can determine the relevance of their suggestions.
Perhaps some pointers are in order:
Set aside as much money as possible without making major or unbearable changes in your current lifestyle. Whenever possible, buy things with a future life in Israel in mind.
Some people come to Israel with large supplies of tissues, toilet paper, tuna fish, and other seemingly indispensable items that they feel they will "need" after making Aliyah. After all, America does makes some products that are better than those sold in Israel.
Those people never really move to Israel. They just move America to Israel.
Go ahead and bring along some rolls of toilet paper and boxes of tissues. They will help remind you of the home that you left behind. However, you will not and cannot maintain that lifestyle forever. Being an Israeli does not mean one-upmanship. You don't have to prove that you are "better" than the other Israelis.
You would do better to come over with other, more important equipment:
Even the best American toilet paper cannot wipe away those needs.
