Class and teacher evaluations
It is questionable whether students are capable of evaluating their teacher's abilities, knowledge, fairness, and teaching skills.
Some teachers feel that student raters are not competent to evaluate instructors' command of subject or research expertise, and some studies show that students themselves do not consider themselves able to evaluate professors in this way.
Students, however, do favor evaluating their professor's teaching, and consider it legitimate to do so. Many administrative leaders agree.
The students themselves often believe they can evaluate how well a college teacher taught them a subject, and how much they were excited by the learning process.
