Your computer may freeze up from time to time. It's a good idea for you to understand various things about it.
First of all, surprising as it may be a certain amount of freezing up is acceptable in the computer world.
That doesn't mean that you're going to like the fact that it freezes or that you will be happy about it or anything else. It's a nuisance for you to have to shut down the computer and then to restart it each time that it freezes up. And certainly if this happens too much then the computer will need servicing.
The question is what is too much?
It's hard to point to a specific number of times that it freezes up that would be tolerable or acceptable but if it does freeze up more than once a day then it certainly is time for you to consider getting the computer serviced.
That might mean anything from a minor tune up to erasing everything on the computer and starting from scratch and any possibility in between.
The computer serviceman should be able to determine the cause of the problem and it may be necessary to replace defective parts that have caused the computer to freeze up. At this point you may decide, based upon how old the computer is, whether the repair is worth it. In some cases the freezing may mean an expensive repair cost which you can simply apply to the cost of a new computer with a fresh new warranty.
Again, you computer consultant will help you determine at which point this is the case.
