Long file names

So we went to Atari and said,
'Hey, we've got this amazing thing [the Apple Computer],
even built with some of your parts,
and what do you think about funding us?
Or we'll give it to you.
We just want to do it.
Pay our salary, we'll come work for you.'
And they said, 'No.'
So then we went to Hewlett-Packard,
and they said, 'Hey, we don't need you.
You haven't got through college yet.'
- Steve Jobs

Since Windows 95 we have been able to create documents which have long file names. These long file names are called LFN by the computer techies and they have been able to be a benefit to some people and a crisis for others. Lets take a look at both the advantages and disadvantages of long file names. In general if you have a choice of using or not using a long file name, try to avoid it. Its better that way. What happens is that the long file name is interpreted by your Windows operating system and you then see it as a genuine long file name. If you write in another language such as Hebrew, the Windows will interpret it and you will be able to read that as well.
