Cell Phone Common Sense

Yesterday I heard about the state of New York banning the use of cell phones for motorists and that drivers can only use the cell phone to call 9-1-1 in case of emergencies.  So what is my opinion?  It is another scheme to take a little bit of your rights away.  Soon they will dictate that you cannot wear shorts in your own car or use the air conditioning because it pollutes the environment.  So what other rights are they going to take away from you next?  You be the judge of that...I'm pretty sure that there is some other aspect in your life that the government oversteps its bounds to pry into.  So what other privacies and freedoms are you willing to give away?  Think about it, we have the technology to have cell phones yet we are not allowed use it in the car.  I think that people need to use their own common sense when it comes to something like that.  If they choose to use their cell phones while driving that is fine with me, however they will be responsible for their own actions if they get into an accident or mangle up their own car crashing into the curb.  However, DO NOT LET THE GOVERNMENT DECIDE FOR YOU unless you want them to control your thoughts and actions in the future.  I hook myself up to the hands free device before I start up my car and that is using my COMMON SENSE and own good judgement.  Oh yeah, also use common sense and be courteous to others when in movie theaters, class, and other quiet places and turn off your cell phone or get one that vibrates.

I'm sorry, due to labs and school I could not put up a decent update for my website.  I will post some of Nealz Nuze on my website.  This is from a Libertarian talk show host that I listen to everyday.  His flagship station is WSB in Atlanta, GA and has his show from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm EST.  Thanks for coming and expect an update tomorrow.

SOCIALIZED MEDICINE INCHES CLOSER

The socialists have won one.  The Democrats have defeated an amendment to the so-called “Patient’s Bill of Rights” that would have protected employers from health care related lawsuits.  I can promise you that today many small and medium sized businessmen are making plans to eliminate health insurance coverage for their employees – and many more future employers will never even consider a health plan for their employees.  The risk just won’t be worth it.

An example?  Here’s part of an e-mail I received last night from a listener:

I heard about the vote in the Senate today that allows employees to sue their employers.  If President Bush signs this into law, I've decided to save possible problems by not offering my employees insurance.  I will also very carefully explain why I am taking this action to my employees.  Maybe the people who work for me might get it.  If this goes into law the only entity that can offer insurance without the chance of  getting sued under this law is the government.  Sure looks like a good crop of votes coming up for the Democrats.

There were more e-mails like this one.  More businessmen and women who said that they were either going to drop their health insurance coverage for their employees, or end any consideration of instituting such a plan.

Here’s another angle for you.  Many larger companies are self-insured.  They have so many employees they find it easier to create and administer their own health-care “insurance” program for their workers.  It’s all economics.  These companies have found that the amount of money they pay for employee health care would be less than the total premiums they would pay to cover their employees under a commercial insurance program.  The amendment the Democrats defeated yesterday would have specifically exempted these companies – but now they are going to face the possibilities of lawsuits.  These companies now know that they will be in the crosshairs of predatory trial attorneys.  They’re large companies, with a lot of money.  These companies don’t want to become involved in hideously expensive medical malpractice lawsuits.  They will have two viable options.

Option one -- These companies can just drop the coverage altogether.  They can increase the wages of their employees by an amount equal to the pro-rata cost of the self-insurance program and send the employees out there to get their own insurance policies.  The Democrats anticipated this possible move and defeated an amendment last week that would have made the premiums for those individual policies tax deductible.  Under no circumstances can leftists ever take any action that would allow any citizen to become more self-sufficient.  Self-sufficient people don’t need Democrats.

Option two – These companies will find a health insurance provider for their employees.  The health care costs to the companies will increase and the increase will be reflected in employee wages, or the reduction of other benefits.

Now --- one more thing.  We’re going to see a new type of insurance policy out there.  Employers who provide their employees with insurance coverage will be purchasing a separate insurance policy to protect them against lawsuits.  The premium will be high – and it will be a cost that is passed on to employees.

HOW MUCH MORE OBVIOUS COULD THIS BE?

A question for you.  How many of you have ever considered the idea of actually suing your employer for any damages resulting from your medical care?  The answer – probably none.  It probably never occurred to you.

So, just how did this bit about suing employers come about?  Well, it’s hard to pin down with certainty, but we can build a plausible scenario.

Plaintiff’s lawyers know that huge awards can be extorted or won from employers through discrimination and other lawsuits.  Perhaps they have been a bit frustrated that they could not bring these lawyers into the courts when they were filing medical malpractice lawsuits.  Clearly, something needed to be done to open the door to suing employers who provide health insurance.   Just open the door a little … that’s all the lawyers need.  Just a crack.  Give them that tiny little crack and they find an activist judge who will kick the door wide open for them – and the assault can begin.

So, how to open that little crack?  Easy!  Get their Democrat friends in congress to do it for them!  Get some legislation enacted that will allow employees to sue employers in medical matters.   Just a tiny little crack!  The lawyers and judges can take if from there!

Believe me, these trial lawyers make one big pile of money.  North Carolina Democrat Senator John Edwards is one of them.  He made a fortune being a trial attorney … then spent $6 million of that money to buy his seat in the U.S. Senate in 1998.  Then, what’s the first thing he does?  He tries to open the vault for his fellow trial attorneys!!!!!  Edwards’ net worth, by the way, is about $50 million.

Why are the Democrats so eager to see the employers exposed to the trial lawyers?  Two reasons:  First, trial lawyers donate big bucks --- tens of millions --- to political campaigns, and over 90 percent of those millions go to Democrats.

And the second reason?   Power!  Pure, simple, unadulterated power.  For over 50 years Democrats have had a single-minded purpose of creating a national health care system in this country.  Call it what it is --- socialized medicine.  Democrats know that a great deal of influence and power can be wielded over a person if you control that person’s access to health care.  Any proposal that has the possibility of upheaval and chaos in health care is a proposal that Democrats can learn to love.  Chaos and upheaval lead to demands for control and solutions – and those demands are made on government.  Just what the Democrats want to hear.

So --- with yesterday’s actions in the Senate, one step closer to socialized medicine.  One step closer to your total dependence on government for your health care.  One step closer to a Democrat nirvana!

Who is Robert Hanssen?

How would you like a friend who you trusted and that you would die for, turn around and stab you in the back?  Would you be mad?  Would you want to get revenge on that person?  What if he turned around, stabbed you in the back, and killed your family?  Would you have so much anger then as to put that person to death?  I don't know about you, but I sure would want my time alone with him so that I can give that person a piece of what I think he/she deserved.  So who is this fool, Robert Hanssen?  Do you know who he is?  You should, he has jeopardized your safety and security for personal gain.  So what did he do that was so bad?  He has stolen valuable secrets from the FBI and have turned them over to Russia.  How would you like somebody coming into your house, perusing your bank records, maybe getting some credit card numbers and PINs and giving that information to somebody else?  Robert Hanssen did no such, as to steal credit card numbers, he stole secrets that explained details of our nuclear weapons capabilities.  In turn, probably with the information Hanssen has provided for the Russians, they can in turn either make or defuse our nuclear arsenal.  Thanks Mr. Hanssen.  Thanks for providing our country with more fears to worry about:  fears that we will be annihilated with our own weapons with Russian emblems, fear that our own people are working for the demise of the United States of America, and fear that we can no longer trust our own government to protect us because scum like you exist.  Thank you Mr. Hanssen and I hope you burn in hell with Benedict Arnold.  I favor the death penalty for Robert Hanssen...anybody else?

Quotes of the Day

“Allegations of espionage are a reminder that we live in a dangerous world, a world that sometimes does not share American values. To anyone who would betray its trust, I warn you, we'll find you and we'll bring you to justice.” - President George W. Bush

"It is extremely difficult because the person who was investigated and charged was one of our own." - Secretary of State Colin Powell

"The U.S. can be errantly likened to a powerfully built but retarded child-- potentially dangerous, but young, immature and easily manipulated. But don't be fooled by that appearance. It is also one which can turn into genius quickly, like an idiot savant, once convinced of a goal." - Robert Hanssen

"Meeting in this country is not really that hard to manage but I am loathe to do so not because it is risky but because it involves revealing my identity. That insulation has been my best protection against betrayal by someone like me." - Robert Hanssen

2 + 2 = 5?

Where can you find a place that 2+2=5 is accepted?  Or 1+1=1.997 is close enough for the answer?  Well, my good friends, right here in the United States of America we accept those answers.  The land that put the first man on the moon, the land that first developed the atomic bomb, and the land that gave you lights with the light bulb, we now accept wrong answers as being correct.  You are probably saying now..."Genghis1227 has gone off the deep end.  It is ludicrous to say that 2+2=5 when we all know that it equals 4.  What is he talking about?"  I'm talking about a new style of math teaching called "Constructivist Mathematics."  This "more tolerant" and "politically correct" program that promotes the learning of math by not getting the answer correct, but by working with others to achieve an answer.  Remember that it doesn't have to be correct, it just has to be a good answer that was found by working with others.  What are we teaching our kids?  I'll tell you what we are teaching our kids, it is called idiocy.  Why do we continue to dumb down our children?  Have you heard the phrase, "The children are our future, teach them well."?  I guess that is thrown out the window with the teaching of morality.  Why do we teach our kids to just estimate instead of calculate?  The reason why we do this is the same reason why the Democrats want to dumb down the public so we can't think for ourselves.  Maybe they want it this way so we cannot calculate how much taxes we pay out of our paychecks to our Imperialistic Federal Government.  Whatever it is I do not agree with these Constructivist Mathematicians that probably don't know a lick of Calculus if the book was thrown their way and shoved up their @$$.

Quotes of the Day

"... in mathematics you don't understand things, you just get used to them." - John von Neumann

"I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain." - John Adams

"The science of figures, to ascertain degree, is not only indispensably requisite in every walk of civilized life; but the investigation of mathematical truths accustoms the mind to method and correctness in reasoning, and is an employment peculiarly worthy of rational beings. In a clouded state of existence, where some many things appear precarious to the bewildered research, it is here that the rational faculties find a firm foundation to rest upon. From the high ground of mathematical and philosophical demonstration, we are insensibly led to far more nobler speculations and sublimer meditations." - George Washington

Another week has gone by for my website.  I am proud that I have actually updated my website for the majority of last week  Here starts a new week and I start it off with a topic that I have just recently acknowledge as a problem in America.  So here we go...

Hollywood's Liberal Agenda.

We start immediately talking about a particular famous person that is an actress and a singer (although I really don't like her singing or acting) and happens to be a die-hard Democrat.  She has starred in movies such as The Mirror Has Two Faces and Yentl and claims that she recently performed her "last" concert.  It seems like there has been many "last" concerts for Babs, or also known as Barbra Streisand and thank goodness in my opinion.  At one time I veered these Hollywood actors and actresses as an entertaining group of people that have talents in acting and portray their character as written in scripts.  Now I see them as political activists that want to push their own thoughts and viewpoints in their line of duty, the movies.  For example, Barbra Streisand has called on the Democrats to oppose President Bush's agenda.  Why?  Well you ask her?  Is it even her place to step foot in the political realm?  I sure hope that her opinion doesn't have that much bearing on the Democratic Party.  Why?  People, she wants to control your life.  She is the almighty Barbra Streisand and she wants to help the "little" people.  Who are the little people?  Those that don't act or are as well off as she is.  So how do I know what her political agenda is?  Well, she has just posted A Call to Conserve on her website that almost mandates what the citizens of California should do to solve the energy crisis.  Who is she to say what the Californians should do?

Next Hollywood Idiot is the Pretty Woman of Hollywood, Julia Roberts.  This is the only thing I'm going to say about Julia Roberts:  She should keep her mouth shut and just act, because that is the only thing that she can do well.  We sure as well know that she doesn't use her brain to assemble any logical and rational thoughts.  Here is one of her greatest quotes:  Actress Julia Roberts said she, too, was going public in politics for the first time after looking up ``Republican'' in the dictionary. She found it, she said, ``just after reptile and right before repugnant. Enough said.''  What dictionary is she using anyways?  Here is some websites for the all beautiful and left, Julia Roberts.

The "I HATE JULIA ROBERTS" CLUB - These guys don't really like Julia Roberts at all.

Matt Drudge on Julia Roberts - He claims that she gets the "Best Bush Basher Award."

Pretty Useless: Julia Roberts, our favorite ingénue - What did she do to upset these people?

Obviously I can rant on and on about these Hollywood leftists.  But, I will not do that for the sake of my audience.  I won't hesitate to pin-point them out though.  I know people who hold these actors and actresses dear to their heart, but as I said before...they have a underlying political agenda so watch out.

Quotes of the Day

"I'll be back" - Schwarzenegger

"Fear is the path to the Dark Side....fear leads to anger...anger leads to hate...hate leads to suffering!" - Master Yoda

"You think if you get elected, Gore will try to take credit for it?" - Leno interviewing then Governor George Bush.

"And who are these people?" - Gore to tour guide, referring to four busts in a room.
Tour guide - "Well, that's George Washington, that's Ben Franklin ..."
