Ancestor’s Services

My ancestor’s services in assisting in the establishment of American Independence during the War of the Revolution were as follows:

Records in office of Adj. Gen. Show Richard Reeves served as private in Capt. Andrew Waggener’s Co., 12th Va. Regiment, commanded by Col. James Woods. His name first appears on Muster roll which covers period Mar., Apr., May, and June 1777 dated Aug. 5, 1777, also on a payroll of the same period. Also on a roster roll for Oct. 1777, dated Nov. 4 which shows him in the hospital. In report to Va. House of Delegates 1777 shows Richard Reeves was paid off at Romney, Va. (12th Va. Reg.)

The said Richard Reeves is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of private in the 12th Va. Regiment in Capt. Andrew Waggener’s Company, Col. James Wood’s Regiment.
