01/18/02: Website comes online. Welcome to General Hospital, a fan site created about the popular daytime drama airing on ABC daytime. General Hospital first aired in 1963. The show has created hundreds of characters over the span of the series and has been handled by several regimes. General Hospital is currently executive produced by Jill Farren Phelps and is written by head writer Megan McTavish. General Hospital's popularity over the years led to the creation of a spin-off series, Port Charles, which also currently airs on ABC.
