BUCHU (Agathosma betulina, Barosma betulina.)
Folk names: Bookoo, Bucoo, Buku, Oval Buku, Short Buku.
Gender: Feminine
Planet: Moon
Element: Water

While there are no "deities" ascribed to this herb, it is ascribed to the Moon. Therefore by Kabbalistic association one "could" ascribe it to the Archangel Gabriel and all of the known gods and goddesses therewith..... The medicinal part of this plant is the leaves. The organs affected are the bladder, the stomach and the lungs. The herb acts as a diuretic, an aromatic, a carminative, a diaphoretic and as a stimulant. Buchu treats fluid retention, gravel, catarrh of the bladder, indegestion and bloat. It is found in the Southwest region of Cape Colony in South Africa, where its use was first learned (To our knowledge.) from the Hottentots. Buchu brandy is their "stimulant tonic" and stomach remedy, this is made by infusing the herb in brandy. The herb finds its primary applications in urinary disorders. A strong tea made of the leaves is helpful for painful urination and  inflammation. It can be taken for leucorrhea. Esoterically an infusion of Buchu drunk is said to allow one to fortell the future. Frankincense burned with Buchu before sleeping will induce prophetic dreams, use only a small amount and burn the mixture (Safely.) in the bedroom. When burned the herb has the scent of the Menthe familly. As stated above, Buchu is kabbalistically associated with the moon and may be used in incense to invoke or evoke any entity ascribed to her..... (Are you starting to get a "feel" for kabbalistic associations yet?)
