Numerology

Numerology Chart

Memorize the above chart, reading each column downwards. See, it's a column, because I think a row runs sideways, not up and down. Hmmm. Quizzical.

Magickal names: you may wish to choose a Craft Name or Magickal Name. It may change when you outgrow it, or move on to another stage of your life. It's best if it harmonizes with the energy of your birth, and hence, with your birth number. To see if a magickal name you'd like, harmonizes, add the letters, sideways: as with "ForestSpirit," F=1, o=6, r=9, and so on. Then, you have, 1+6+9+5+1+2 + 1+7+9+9+9+2 = 7. So, if your birth number is 4, and not 7, trying adding a letter, or rearranging the name somehow, or choose a different name.

Of interest: names were extremely important in ancient Egypt, and no one used their original name because it was thought that if someone had your "true" name, then, they could curse you and afflict you with anything, and any variety of spells. On a more positive note, saying or chanting the name of the goddess "Isis," is, or can be, a prayer in it's self, as, too, could be the name of any revered deity, with the proper intention and focus.

Numerology is a fun and very useful divination skill. It's really extra appealing if you're good at memorizing numbers, and fairly logical. It can also greatly help with your visualization skills, with adding all those numbers, and/or letters, and that, in your head. (Side teaching note: Imagine an apple. Did you see one? There -- you can visualize. That type of visualization is fairly simple. The other type is actually seeing visions "physically" in front of you, which is more rare.)

Numerology can help you plan events, as well as, names, and locations to which to move, or where to place a certain type of business, and so forth. There are also the address numbers, and city lot numbers, or what have you, you might want to also take under consideration for a new location.

For example, if you birth number is 9, and you want to move to Phoenix, Arizona, then, that city and state equal 7+8+6+5+5+9+6, + 1+9+9+8+6+5+1, which equals 1, + 3, which ultimately, then, equals 4. So, I reckon, you could find somewhere better for you to relocate, then, since it doesn't match you completely, though, some numbers "get along" all right which each other, anyway (you can mostly tell which ones work the best together by the "meanings" chart, below).

How to find your birth number: If you were born on April 22, 1976, your birth number would be 4+ 2+2+ 1+9+7+6 = 13 = 4. So, you added sideways, therefore, and your birth number is 4, like me. :-) You're an odd duck. (Though, that's not my birthdate.)

Some meanings for the numbers...

1 = independent, leader, aggressive
2 = stable, ethical, decent
3 = fun-loving, outgoing, adventurous
4 = unique, original, logical, reliable, questioning
5 = mercurial (changeable), sensual, assertive
6 = domestic, dutiful, solving
7 = eccentric, spiritual, imaginative
8 = financial, firm, practical
9 = altruistic, helpful, romantic, poetic
11 = thoughtful, striving, global, bearing forth change
13 = magickal, lucky, mystical
22 = like 11, but a little more grounded

Notice, if you come up with 11, or 22, or 13, you can leave it as it is, or reduce it, like 1+1=2, and so forth. Numbers, and combinations that add up to, or multiply to, 3's, 9's, 6's, etc., are also considered special, such as, 4+7=11, or 39 is three 13's (13 being the Witch's number -- i.e., 13 full moons in a year), or 8 equals the number of main Sabbats, or 5 is the five-points of a pentagram (five-pointed star), which, however, in numerology, the number 5 equals change, and so forth. (Note: the Runes, which is a Germanic or Teutonic system of divination and language, is well worth your further study and practice, too.)

Good luck!
