Meditation, Chakra Clearing

Lily
Side teaching note, Visualization: Imagine an apple. Did you see one? There -- you can visualize. That type of visualization is fairly simple, and it's the one used in most meditation (and in nearly all magick). The other type is actually seeing visions "physically" in front of you, which is more rare.

Lie or recline in a quiet place, where you won't be disturbed. Visualize/imagine (or sense) that there is a sphere (like a globe) of blue or white light at your feet. Mentally draw it up through your left side, all the way up to your head (inside, and a few inches outside of your body), and have it flow back down to your feet through your right side, with the same method, have it pool there lightly, and then, draw it back up through you a few times.

Alternatively, visualize the white, cleansing sphere at your feet (perhaps, see it sparkling, as well), except draw it through you completely, through all of your body, up through your head, then, mentally seeing it flowing down over the top of your head like a fountain, to encapsulate you in light, which is cleansing and protective.

The chakras are energy centers through your body (somewhat like spiritual organs); there are seven, major chakras. They are associated with different areas of your thoughts, and you can invent an affirmation for each, for example, for root chakra, you could say to your self, "I am completely safe and secure. I am protected in all times in all ways." You can basically can start at the root chakra; see the chakras, (each one, in turn), as translucent (like clear, colored glass), spinning wheels or balls, or fans, of colored light. Though, first, visualize/imagine sparkling, golden light springing up from the center of your body, around your solar plexus (which is by your navel, or slightly above it), and flowing as a limitless fountain. Then, cleanse and energize each one (seeing any "dark" areas or spots you might notice, which could be blockages or negative thoughts, being dissolved) with the light (such as, a white light) from the One Spirit at the core of your Spirit, within you. It's a limitless supply. It's flowing naturally and smoothly. Go through each chakra, one at a time (don't rush it), as mentioned. See them beginning to glow, being vibrant and clear, in their colors, and spinning clockwise, or mentally start them spinning clockwise (and them lower ones spin slower than the ones higher up on your body). See them as cleansed and healthy. Use your positive affirmations, also, at each one, saying them out loud if you can, or even a whisper is something. (Also, see them as partly inside and outside of your body, and as directly down the verticle center of you; and don't worry if you can't remove every "dark" spot the first time, or first few times; you will). The Chakras, and their colors, their areas/locations, and their associations with your psyche, are: Root chakra, color = red, location = at the base of your spine (in your "private area"), safety, security, sexual lust, feeling protected (or if you are or not); Sacral chakra, orange, your abdomen, wants, desires, cravings, habits; Solar plexus chakra, bright, sunlight yellow, very slightly above your navel (belly button), loving power, control, your personal control; the Heart Chakra, green or pink, at the center of your chest, basically above/near the heart, love, ability to receive and give love, forgiveness, forgiveness abilities; Throat chakra, light blue, at the base of your throat, speaking your truth, allowing the One Spirit or Higher Spirit to speak through you, dreams, spiritual messages, all communication, communication with your angels; the Third Eye or Brow chakra, regular, bright blue, or with sparkles of purple in it, between your two eyes, in the center of your forehead, psychic abilities and powers, dreams, visions, magickal power (especially lunar, with the full moon), receiving messages from the spirit-world, clairvoyance, etc.; and the Crown chakra, brilliant white, and/or purple, or one of those colors with sparkles of the other in it, the whole top of your head, above many people's hairline (unless it's receding, but I don't think that changes the chakra), deals with trust, trusting "God" or Spirit, or the One Spirit, Goddess/God, etc., feeling whole and complete, talking to "God" and receiving messages from the "Divine". Remember to do your affirmations for each energy centers, which are for various areas of your mind and thoughts, also. You can see why it's not good for these to become blocked, or for your thoughts to be negative (you'll choose [and you ALWAYS choose, and have chosen] to think one way or the other -- positive or negative -- it's an equal choice, but the results are anything but equal! Choose good [and make good choices] unto Life, or negative/harmful which leads unto some type of death, or "living-death" feeling, anyway). You make your own CHOICES!
So, now, they should all be flowing as a beautiful rainbow of colored spheres, that is, after you cleanse or clear them. And if you're happier and more balanced (and more strength and self-control, with all of which this meditation definitely can help) in your life, they'll stay cleaner (remember, you make all your own choices, and choose your reactions and thoughts, so, therefore, you are always in complete control -- own it!). You can do this meditation every day, or twice a day, or once a week, or of course, whatever you choose, but it can't hurt you to do it once daily (perferably in the morning, though, you can/could imagine it as more relaxing, and slowed down, at night).

Ideoretinal lights: this appears as millions of colored, tiny specks, very subtle, over everything you see; like a screen over everything you see. You might be able to see them more in the dark. Some people see white sparks here and there. Not to be confused with floating white or blue orbs, that could be spirits, seen more in forests, in the deep of night. I think some people just see this way -- the ideoretinal lights. They have been documented. If you can see them, you've probably been wondering what they were, all your life. If not, you think we're nuts, huh? It's possible that children see them more than others. There are meditation events, and even astral projection and lucid dream-type events, where people have seen billions of colored lights (though, I think that's something different entirely), often feel electrically-charged, so to speak, and they feel amazing, afterwards. Anyway, the ideoretinal lights could also be some form of Chi, or Earth-energy, though, again, appears very subtle or slight, and you can see through them real easy. I don't want those or that confused with the astral/spiritual type of lights, and that psychic or astral energy, as mentioned here, however. I'm talking about auras on this subject, but auras are energy fields around people and things.

Brain waves (since I love science, and think it's important): Beta is when you're busy and alert to everything; Alpha (is where you are for much of the meditations) is when you're relaxed, watching TV, or daydreaming, or "zoned out"; Theta is right before you fall asleep, and exists with deep meditation, or hypnosis (though, hypnosis works through many brain wave states), and Theta is where psychic info can be thought to filter through into your conscious mind; and Delta is when you're asleep.

Note or warning on different subjects: Things like astral projection (where one perceives to have left their physical body, or had an OBE, or Out-of-body Experience, and are completely healthy and well; that is an NDE, or Near-Death Experience, though, one also perceives to have left their body, during that, too) and lucid dreaming (a dream where you know you're dreaming, during the dream) are basically for more advanced people, and people with extreme self-control, who have their lives balanced, and have great lives, and lots of friends, etc. I consider them advanced, and would NOT advise to go playing around with them. Anyone who's depressed should not try them, in my opinion, ever. I don't know how many of those experiences are "real," or if they're just simply in one's mind -- or the number of real ones, versus ones just in the mind, so to speak. Yes, they'd still be real experiences, in the mind, but would not necessarily be one leaving the physical body, also. And also, even magick can become really askew if someone is depressed while attempting it, and then, it's advised against, like, anywhere I've read it, or even experienced it, for those persons. Anyway, don't mess with altered-states of consciousness; you're not giving it proper respect then, either, and that'll always bite you, so to speak.
