Ferio of the Manga
Three schoolgirl's groups went on excursion to Tokyo Tower. There girls, Hikaru, from ordinary girl school met Fuu from "computer brain" school and Umi from "elite" school. They were suddenly transported into an unknown world as they gazed to one and another. Arriving into another world wasn't a very good thing as everyone were concerned about their own business, as in the manga where Umi missed her likes such as hamburgers and ice creams. Then came a boy looking guy who is 745 years old and lectured these girls about the trouble in Cephiro, asking them to accept the request to be Magic Knights from the other world. The only one who seem to pay attention to him only Hikaru, while the two other talking about their unfinished things at home. This guy is a mage, the best magic user in Cephiro. He taught the Hikaru how to use magic as she's the one who enthusiastically want to be a Magic Knight in the legend. Meanwhile, Zagato has known that the princess has summoned the Magic Knights ordered Alcyone to finish the Magic Knights. The mage who has known that this killer had nearly come, ordered the knights to go as quick as possible to Silent Forest and meet Presea there. He was even forgot to tell his name until Hikaru asked him. Clef, Guru Clef he said. They were flown by a giant greyhen to the silent forest. Meanwhile, Alcyone, Clef's former student, after succeed turning Clef into stone began to hunt her prey. Fortunately Hikaru was able to repel the attack and safely get into Silent Forest. As they arrived, they found an empty house. They broke into the house and found Mokona in Presea's study room. They got trapped by Presea, and she thought that they are the one who responsible for the mess in her room. After being sorted out, Presea sent them to Lake Eterna to recover the legendary mineral Escudo, a developable mineral which follow the wearer's faith in order to make special weapons for the Magic Knights. With Mokona, these girls venture to the Silent Forest to find Lake Eterna. In Silent Forest, magic become useless, so they only fight with their weapons. In the journey, they meet a guy, Ferio who wants to get the Escudo too. He joined the party and saved Fuu in one of the fight. Later, after getting out from Silent Forest, they confront again with Alcyone. During the fight, Hikaru was badly wounded and Umi learnt her magic, defeating Alcyone. While Fuu also learnt her recovery magic to help Hikaru. Before departing, Ferio gave some gift to Fuu, then go away realized that the only who can get the Escudo are the Magic Knights and he can't deny this. The place they went wasn't exist any water, just a big plain. The Lake Eterna is a 2D lake, it doesn't have depth. Mokona was the one who jumped first into the Lake, followed by the others. In the lake they were separated, and each one has to defeat the duplicate of their own most loved thing which attacked them in order to pass the test and get the Escudo. After Presea made their weapons, they continued the journey to revive the Machine Gods. Using Mokona's vehicle they went to a palace underwater, where Umi's machine god reside. In the palace, they met another Zagato's henchman, a short boy named Ascot. To revive the dragon, Umi's mecha, she got to show the true heart of a Magic Knight. She does this by rescuing her friends and making Ascot conscious that he just being used by Zagato. Ascot's main motive was that his monstrous friends can't be accepted by other people, so he turned to Zagato who would give him and his friend a place. After receiving the machine god who named Ceres, their armors and weapons were upgraded.
The next place is a flying mountain where machine god of the wind, Windam reside. This time is Fuu's turn to revive the mecha. Again, she also has to proven herself that she's a true Magic Knight. This time, they face Caldina, a mystical dancer who could turn someone under her control. And again, she was sent by Zagato too. After the fight, she told the Magic Knights that she was hired by Zagato and don't know the reason why she had to kill them, and she told the Magic Knights that she overhear once Zagato said Cephiro is not the main importance. Once again, their weapons and armors were upgraded. The third place where the third mecha reside wasn't clear, but the main plot is Rafaga, Emerode's ex-guard who had been under Zagato's control tried to finish the Magic Knights in the place where the mecha, Rayearth showed up. This is the test for Hikaru to prove herself as a Magic Knight. Rafaga was revived after he touched Hikaru's sword and burned by the fire from the sword. Then he continued his mission to rescue the Princess. After the last mecha revived, their weapons and armors were updated again for the last time. And Fuu doesn't wear her glass anymore when wearing this third armor :(.Now they head for Zagato's headquarter in the mecha's to safe Cephiro and princess Emerode. They met their enemy, Zagato in his own mecha. Before the fight started, they accuse Zagato of his evil by kidnapping the pillar, letting Cephiro in chaos because the pillar had gone. But, Zagato denied this, saying that the pillar's job only to "serve the others" without any other options and care about herself due to instability will cause if she divert her concentration to other matter. The fight started and Zagato was defeated. The Magic Knights thought that their job has over and now Cephiro was secured and the princess can be free again. Totally wrong. The princess was in love with Zagato for some time and has diverted her mind only to him. Zagato didn't kidnap her, but she who hide herself so she can forget Zagato, but it's fruitless. Now, after Zagato's death, her mind was fulfilled by avenge and destruction. So, when they found the princess, she has transformed into a evil princess. These naive knights still believed that the princess is still hidden someplace. Until the remnant of good princess talked with them, telling the story that she couldn't forget Zagato and beg them to kill her, taking her to the eternal place with Zagato. The Magic Knights were summoned TO kill herself because no one in Cephiro can do harm to the princess.Hikaru, the one who determined to safe her shocked by her story and refused to do what the princess said, to kill her. After begging for the last time before disappearing, the evil form has started to attack the knights as a berserk. At last, they decided to fulfill her will. They unite the three mecha's into one form and deliver the last blow to the evil princess, sending her to Zagato's place. The last thing they heard is princess voice thanking them for freeing her from the trouble. After that, they were in the Tokyo Tower, hugging each other crying for the tragic ending of their adventure.
The Second season was continued from the end of the First season. All three girls were haunted by the tragic ending of their adventures at Cephiro. One day, they agreed that they will meet again at Tokyo Tower. As they were thinking back, a bright light just like last time shone and they disappeared and reappeared in mid-air just like last time. The same flying fish came to their rescue, but now they noticed that they don't seem to be in Cephiro. The beautiful scenario of Cephiro has been replaced by lightning filled cloudy skies. Dead looking rocks and mountains was in the place of all the lively looking volcanoes and seas. The next thing that caught their eyes was a tall castle looking structure. The second they entered, they are welcomed with a familiar "Puu!Puu!Puu!". Mokona was there. With Mokona leading, they headed into a camber where: Clef, Ascot, Caldina, Rafaga, Presea and Ferio was. Even though some of them were their enemies back in the First Season, they were talked to the good side, so they are friends of the Magic Knights. A few interesting things have happened when they were gone. First of all, Ascot has became taller (even taller than Umi who is the tallest of the three) which the three knights found it hard to believe. Secondly, Caldina the Lafarga seems to be in love, but we are not sure. And lastly, Ferio has found out that he was actually the smaller brother of Princess Emerode and therefore, he is now prince of Cephiro. Clef explained to them that Cephiro is now under a stage of self-destruction where it needs a protector like Princess Emerode to get it back into shape. The other countries surrounding Cephiro is planning to invade it and are on their way already. He also gave the magic knights back their armor and weapons. A new character called Lantis came in with a little fairy (Primera). Then the three girls were suddenly summoned into a second dimension where they were surrounded by Rayearth, Seresu (Ceres) and Windam. There, they received the three Mashins again and went outside to have their first combat with the commander from Autozam in his FTO, then the childish princess of Pharen and lastly, the guardians (they look like genies) of the two princesses of Chizeta . After a long fight, the three nation 's commanders-in-attack got into a fight which ignored the magic knights. Eventually, all of them wasted too much "Spiritual Power" and had to retreat though the paths they created with their "Spiritual Power" to reach Cephiro. The three girls returned to the castle where after they went heading into the camber they were before they got summoned into the second dimension, the Mashins actually bowed in front of Mokona (interesting...). That night, none of the three girls could sleep, Umi felt she was guilty about the way she treated Clef the first time she saw him so he went to see him. Fuu had a rather romantic time with Ferio and Hikaru went wondering around until she bumped into Lantis. After those, the scene went into four different parts. First we see the princess of Pharen explaining that she wanted to invade Cephiro because she wanted to make it into a candy world. Next, we see the two princesses from Chizeta (Tata&Tatra) explaining that due to the fact that the size of their home country is too small so they need to invade Cephiro. Then, we see Eagle explaining that since he as some strange sickness and he needs to save Autozam from the fact that it's decaying, he needs to conquer Cephiro. Last we hear from Lantis that he wants to end the legend of Magic Knights due to the fact that if it goes on like that, the tragedy of having to kill the pillar of Cephiro will never end, therefore he came back to it . The next day, the three girls had a little tea meeting where they had a little discussion about what Mokona is made out of. There was an earthquake which meant Cephiro is in a even worse state than ever. They dashed into the camber where Clef and Presea was and Clef told them that the three attackers are back again. Again, the three girls summoned the Mashins and went outside. After some fighting, Mokona suddenly appeared in mid air, but there was something strange about him. The gem on his forehead has turned into yellow and he has wings now. The smiling face that he used to have has been taken by a serious looking facial expression. He explains to everyone watching that he is the "Creator" Cephiro, Pharen, Autozam, Chizeta and Earth. He continued saying that no one has a great enough 'Heart' to become protector of Cephiro other than Hikaru and Eagle. He orders them to fly into a light beam which was the test Clef mentioned earlier on. Inside, there was the scenario of Tokyo Tower and its surroundings. God Mokona ordered Eagle and Hikaru to fight to the death and whoever wins will be the new protector of Cephiro and the other will perish. Finally, Hikaru won and managed to save Eagle and his FTO back into Cephiro. After that, Hikaru argued that since she is now the protector of the planet, she wants to ban the old tradition of the protector being killed by the magic knights for them to save the Cephiro since this will only create tragedy after tragedy. After some convincing, Hikaru got her way. Cephiro was saved and it has made friends with the surrounding states. The next thing we encounter in the comic is the three girls go back to Cephiro from Tokyo Tower. But this time, they controlled the teleportation since Hikaru is now protector (so they can go back anytime they wanted provided they have Hikaru teleporting them). Back in Cephiro, there is a great party where nearly everyone was there. Fuu went to see Ferio. Ascot asked Umi to make snacks with him but his real reason was to ask if Umi has ever talked to anyone about love and passion. Umi said no and Ascot was extremely happy while his face blushed. Hikaru went to see Eagle and was joined by Lantis warmly. She likes Lantis at the start, but seems to like Eagle too now... Then they all meet where Umi asked Hikaru what to call this new world or else it will be called the unhappy Cephiro again. Hikaru thought for a moment and turned towards the reader saying, "I know! Let the one who has been protecting us name this world! You should name this world!" Nice little ending from CLAMP heh?
