Magic Ham's Revenge

By Tammi

Hamtaro and the Ham-Ham's have their biggest adventure yet.

Disclaimer: Hamtaro is owned by Tokyo TV 2000 and Cartoon Network.

"I can't believe today is Hamtaro's birthday," Dexter said.

"Well it is," Boss replied. "Just look at all the presents we got him."

"And I baked him a sunflower seed cake," Chef Ham added. He was there along with his kids.

In fact, nearly all the hamsters were there. A few were missing, including Stan and Sandy.

The siblings were out looking for a gift for Hamtaro. Suddenly, Stan noticed an X on a piece of soft ground.

"I'll bet there's buried treasure under there," he said. "Come on, Sandy, let's dig it up and find out."

They started digging, and soon uncovered a golden box. "It's beautiful," Sandy said. "Whatever's inside will be a perfect gift for Hamtaro."

They headed for the clubhouse, and brought the box with them. All the hamsters gazed at it.

"I'm sure Hamtaro will like what's in that box when he opens it," Pashmina said.

"Ookwee!" Penelope cried.

"Now let's do our part, and get Hamtaro," Maxwell said to Cappy.

They left, and went to Laura's house. By now, Laura and Kana were at school.

Hamtaro saw his friends outside the window, and came out via the rainpipe. As the trio walked along, he asked them what was up.

"You'll see," Cappy replied.

When they arrived at the clubhouse, all the Ham-Hams emerged from their hiding places.

"Happy birthday, Hamtaro!" Boss, Oxnard, Bijou, Maxwell, Cappy, Snoozer, Panda, Dexter, Howdy,Pashmina, Penelope, Stan, Sandy, Jingle, Sparkle, Pepper, Omar, Heidi, Heidi's grandmother, Chef Ham and his kids shouted.

"Aw, guys, you shouldn't have," Hamtaro said, blushing.

Just the same, he and his friends had sunflower seed cake, and played a few games. Then Hamtaro opened his presents. The last one he saw was the golden box. When he opened it, he got an unexpected surprise.

A hamster dressed in a sorceror's robe and hat emerged from the box. "At last I am free!" he exclaimed.

"Who are you?" Boss asked.

"I am Magic Ham," he replied. "Years ago, I was imprisoned in this box by a pair of hamsters. Now I will have my revenge on them."

"Oh no you don't!" Hamtaro retorted. "This is my birthday party, and I won't let you ruin it."

"I make all the decisions here," Magic Ham answered. "And right now, my decision is to turn all of you into Zombies. Except for the small ones."

He waved his wand, and conjured up several golden boxes. Penelope and Chef Ham's kids were quickly locked inside them.

He gestured with his wand.

"Run, Hamtaro!" Boss cried.

Hamtaro ran out. But Magic Ham turned all the others into zombies. Then he issued the orders.

"Chef Ham, you will be my cook. Jingle and Sparkle will provide entertainment. The rest of you will bring me Hamtaro, and the two Ham- Ham's who imprisoned me, Elder Ham and Auntie Viv."

"We hear and obey, Magic Ham," they replied.

Jingle played his guitar, and Sparkle sang. Chef Ham began preparing a meal. Everyone else left the clubhouse.

Meanwhile, Hamtaro was still running. He came upon Sabu, and told him what was going on.

"I'll help you, Hamtaro," the eye- patch wearing hamster assured him. "But we'll need a little more help."

Within moments, the pair had found Elder Ham, Auntie Viv, Stucky, and Nin-Ham.

Elder Ham explained that he and Auntie Viv were the ones who'd put Magic Ham in the golden box. "So we need a way to put him back in. The box cuts off his power. Once we get him back in, the spell will be broken."

"And before Laura gets home from school," Hamtaro reminded him.

"Wait," Auntie Viv said. "I have an idea."

She whispered it to them, and they nodded in agreement.

Just then, Boss and the others arrived. "You will all come with us," Boss ordered.

They put up their paws, and went back to the clubhouse. Upon their arrival, they put their plan into operation.

"I see you brought me my intended victims and a few others," Magic Ham observed. "Now Elder Ham and Auntie Viv will be placed in their own golden boxes, and the rest will become zombies."

"Catch me if you can," Stucky teased as he rolled around on the floor. "Rolly-poly, rolly-poly, rolly-poly."

While Magic Ham was distracted, Nin-Ham used his Ninja moves on him, knocking the wand out of his paws. Sabu caught it, and tossed it to Hamtaro.

Hamtaro in turn, tossed it to Elder Ham. The elderly hamster used it to reopen the golden box. Then he and Auntie Viv stepped into it. Magic Ham entered the box to get it, and the feisty pair set it down, and got out. Nin-ham leaped in, and knocked Magic Ham out. Then he, too, got out. Auntie Viv slammed the lid down.

The boxes containing Penelope and Chef Ham's kids flew open, and the little hamsters were free. The others blinked their eyes, and asked what had happened.

"You were under a spell," Hamtaro explained. "But everything's all right now."

"Not until we bury the box again," Elder Ham said. The whole group went out, and buried the box.

Then they returned to the clubhouse, and continued with the party. After a while, Hamtaro saw that it was almost three o' clock. He thanked his friends, left the clubhouse, and got home moments before Laura did.

"This is one birthday I'll never forget," he thought.

That night, Laura wrote about her day at school. "It was a nice day, wasn't it, Hamtaro?" she asked. "And tomorrow will be even better." The End
