"Hurry, Jackie," Jade urged. "The Dark Hand is right on our tail!"
"I will lose them," her uncle replied. He made a left hand turn.
"Fire!" Valmont ordered. Ratso fired from the car window, and blew out the rear tires of Jackie's car. The vehicle turned over, but neither of the occupants were hurt.
Jade got out, taking the talismans with her. "Jade, where are you going?" Jackie shouted.
"I'm looking for a hiding place for the talismans," she answered. "A place where the Dark Hand will never find them."
Before Jackie could stop her, she was gone. She ran around the corner, and came upon a dumptster. "This is as good a hiding place as any," she told herself. She dumped them in. "Safe and sound." She then ran back to Jackie.
"Where are the talismans?" he asked her.
"In the safest place I could find," she answered.
"Come on," Jackie urged. "We must report the Dark Hand's attack to the local police."
They came to the police station, and walked in. There they saw the sergeant, a blue-uniformed switchboard operator, a canine janitor, and a striped cat.
"Hello," the operator said. "This is Rosemary speaking."
As the duo approached the desk, Sergeant Flint took one look at them. "Ooh! Ooh! Jackie Chan!" he exclaimed. "I've heard about you and your dealings with the Dark Hand."
"That is exactly the reason we are here," Jackie explained. "The Dark Hand blew out our rear tires in an attempt to recover the talismans."
"I'll send all my men out to look for the Dark Hand," the sergeant assured him.
By this time, Rosemary had stepped away from the switchboard. "Mr. Chan, I've always wanted to meet you," she said.
Penry, the janitor looked at the cat. "Come on, Spot," he whispered to the cat. "This is a job for Hong Kong Phooey." He pushed a button on a vending machine, and he and Spot entered a secret room. There, he leaped into a filing cabinet, Spot banged on it, and he emerged as Hong Kong Phooey.
The dog and cat went out the window, landed in the dumpster, and rode out in the Phooeymobile. As they rode along, Phooey noticed something on the floor. "These must be the talismans Jackie and Jade were talking about. We'll keep them safe from that Dark Hand."
Meanwhile, Jade decided to show Jackie and Sergeant Flint where she had hidden the talismans. "They're here in this dumpster," she said as she lifted the lid.
The three looked in. "Ooh! Ooh! They're gone!" Flint exclaimed.
"The Dark Hand got them before we could!" Jade said. "Oh, how could I be so dumb?"
Hong Kong stopped the Phooey Mobile, and he and Spot got out. "These talismans must mean something," he commented. "But why would the Dark Hand want them?"
"For absolute power!" came the answer. The hero looked and saw the Dark Hand standing there.
"Hand them over, pooch," Valmont ordered.
Instead, the dog put them in the pocket on his robe. Then he leaped at the villains, intending to use his Kung Fu "skills." But he missed.
Finn sprayed him and Spot with sleep mist. Then Valmont removed the talismans. "Shandu will be pleased with us," he said. "Let's get going."
But then Jackie and Jade arrived. "You will not be going anywhere," Jackie declared. He fought the criminals, and recovered the talismans. Valmont suddenly grabbed Jade, and Ratso picked up Spot.
"It's a trade," Valmont said. "Exchange the talismans for the girl and the cat, or you'll never see either one again." They put the captives in their car, and drove off.
A second later, Hong Kong Phooey woke up. "What happened to Spot?"
"The Dark Hand captured him and my niece," Jackie answered. "But at least I have the talismans." He looked at the dog. "Why, you are Hong Kong Phooey!"
"And you're Jackie Chan. Pleased to meet you."
"Save it for later. We have prisoners to rescue."
"Right. Hop into my Phooey Mobile."
"But how do we catch them in time?" Jackie asked as he got in.
"Like this!" Hong Kong Phooey struck a gong, and the Phooey Mobile became a helicopter.
"Amazing!" Jackie cried.
The copter followed the Dark Hand to a deserted warehouse. Phooey landed it on the roof. The pair leaped through the sky light.
"I see you agreed to our trade," Valmont said, smiling.
"Not without a fight," Jackie replied. He and Hong Kong Phooey prepared to attack the villains.
"The dog is too clumsy," Finn said.
"But I am not," Jackie snapped. He attacked Valmont. Phooey joined him, but missed again.
"Better check the Hong Kong Book Of Kung Fu," the dog realized. While he was looking up the right attack to use, Spot was using his claws to cut Jade's ropes. When he was done, she removed her gag.
She and Spot then went into action. Together, they defeated the Dark Hand.
"No talismans for you!" Jade snapped.
Hong Kong Phooey looked at the beaten villains. "I did it!" he cried. "I don't know how, but I did it!"
Spot smacked his forehead.
The Dark Hand left. "You've won this round," they said. "But we will meet again, and the talismans will be ours."
Jackie and Jade called a tow truck, and their car was brought to a service station, where the tires were fixed. While they waited, Jackie's cell phone rang. It was Uncle.
"Jackie!" Uncle said. "When are you coming back? Captain Black needs to meet with you!"
"I'll be home soon," Jackie promised.
"One more thing. Jade's teacher needs to see you. Something about grades and homework."
"All right." He explained that he would be delayed for a little while.
At the police station, Sergeant Flint and Rosemary rambled on about Jackie's visit.
"I hope he comes here again," Rosemary gushed.
"Ooh! Ooh! So do I."
Just then, Penry's vaccuum cleaner sucked up a coin that the Sergeant had dropped.
"PENRY!" Flint raged. "That was a Golden Eagle coin worth $10,000!"
"Well, it could have been worse, Sergeant sir. It could have been one of the talismans."
"Why you--" Flint suddenly stopped himself. "How does he know about the talismans?" he thought.
