I bought some of the jewelry, and Mom and my Aunt Betty gave me the rest. Silly little hearts and charms and bangles … girls are so lucky!!!

I better go. Stephanie bet me ten dollars I wouldn't dare show up in a dress and I want to collect my money. Sometimes she acts so funny when she sees me like this. Almost as funny as some of the guys, if you know what I mean.

Darn it! Mom says she can't take me 'cause she's got to go to a meeting tonight. It's either get someone to give me a ride or else walk all the way across town like this. Are you doing anything right now …?
