Fine, I hope you’re happy! I hate this wig … the pigtails look goofy and they tickle my neck. And these stupid shoes and this darned short skirt … how can girls stand to wear stuff like this all the time? Oh, great, everybody’s already laughing at me and the play hasn’t even started.

Oh, gosh … my coach is in the audience. I’ll never get picked to play first base now! And there’s Mary Beth Anderson! What’s she doing here? You see, she’s got the biggest mouth in the school and she loves teasing me about stuff like this. I’m never going to live this down ….

Yes, Mom, I know … I’m coming. Well, I gotta go. My mom wants to show me off to her ladyfriends before the play starts. I hate it when she does that.
