The Mystery of Irma Vep is a fun show by those
masters of the drag, The Ridiculous Theatrical Company in NYC.
This show pokes fun at every convention of horror film, with
very deliberate takes on "Gaslight"
and most Hitchcock films.
Oh my God, is this a
costumers' nightmare.
The actors, always male, have 1 to 3
lines
of dialogue
to do complete changes from male to female,
human to werewolf,
vampire, you name it. I would do this show
again in a heartbeat.
Everything is Velcroed, and the wigs are
damn near injection molded.
The reviewers sat out front one night,
and came backstage the
next night, and then wrote the
reviews of the show.
