Ricky Martin was born on 24th December 1971 in Puerto Rico. He's very much known from the song ' Maria ' ( Un, dos, tres ) , the summerhit of 1997. In January 1994 Ricky playde a role as the bartender Miguel Morez in the ABC daytime drama "General Hospital". Yet Martin's musical talents shine brightest through his work as a songwriter, singer and musician. He also made his debut on Broadway with a starring role in nothing less than " Les Miserables ", one of the biggest selling and most aclaiming works of the world capital of musical theater. Ricky Martin first revealed a love for the performing arts through school plays and choir. By the age of six he had begun to appear in television commercials. Through divorced , his parents were always supportive his ambitions. At the age of 12 Martin became a member of Menudo, the teenage group whose singing, dancing and stage presence electrified young audiences worldwide. For five years ( from July 10, 1984, until July 10, 1989) Martin lived his dream, performing at music festivals and sold-out concerts on every continent. In 1989 he returned to Puerto Rico to finish his high school, moving to New York after graduation to enjoy 6 months of well deserved tranquility. He got a triple platinum record for selling more than 400.000 copies of the latest album 'A medio Vivir'. After only 3 weeks, his hit single "Maria" (un, dos, tres) is already GOLD in Belgium. By the way, Ricky will also do the voice over for the upcoming Disney film ' Hercules', doing the voice of ... Hercules of course.
