Perhaps some people are able to get responses from advertisements. I have not been so lucky.
Over the course of the years, both in the States and in Israel, I've answered countless ads. I've had no joy from them.
On the other hand, if I don't try to get jobs, they seem to come by themselves. The Parnassa comes from Heaven, not from the newspapers.
For some time, I worked in the Jerusalem Post. They allowed me to place an occasional free classified ad in the newspaper. The only responses I received were from others who were looking for jobs. They told me that if my advertisement was very successful, and I had too much work, that they would be happy to take some of the overflow jobs off my hands.
Ads don't work.
