Chapter Seven

Philip held Chloe in his arms for awhile. He waited patiently while she cried gently on his shoulder. "Come on, you are coming with me. You are not staying here anymore." Philip said while picking her up. "No! I cant go! Hell find me." She yelled. Philip looked into the eyes of the frightened girl in front of him. "I wont let anything happen to you. I promise." Philip said, trying to reassure her. All her life, Chloe got empty promises, how is this different she thought. She looked into Philips eyes, and there she found something she never saw before. A safety and security, and somewhere deep down inside her, told her she can trust him. She stayed quiet, so Philip took it upon himself to guide her to his car.

On the way back to the mansion, she was extremely quiet. "You can stay at my house tonight, so you dont have to sleep, in the same house as your father." Philip said. Chloe quickly shot up at that statement. "Dont ever say that! Never say those words! That man is not my father! He will never be my father!" Chloe shouted. Philip was confused, very confused. "Why do you live with that man then?" He asked calmly. Chloe looked at him, unsure whether or not to continue. "Because, I dont know who my father or mother is." She simply said. Philip now wished that he didnt say anything. He felt so bad for causing her more pain. "Im so very sorry, Chloe." Philip said. "Its okay, you didnt know. I just dont wanna go back there." She said sadly. "And you wont." He simply said. Once they got to the Kiriakis mansion. He quietly guided her to his room. "Here you can sleep in this, and you can stay here to night, Ill go sleep in a guest bedroom." He said, offering her a long t-shirt. Chloe didnt want to be alone, she was alone to many times before. "No, stay with me. Hold me." She whispered, while pulling him onto her. "Are you sure?" He asked. "I just dont want to be alone." She nearly cried. Philip was somewhat happy that she wanted him to stay the night with her. He told her that she could change in the adjoining bathroom, while he changed in his room. She immediately got dressed, than came out to find Philip in his boxers and a muscle shirt. She was nerves, but she felt like she could trust Philip, so she made her was to the bed, and layed down. She didnt know what to expect, when Philip took her into his arms she shuttered a little bit . "Dont be afraid Im not going to hurt you." Philip said. "I know, I trust you." She confided, while turning her body, so that she could lay her head on his chest. They quickly fell asleep, and it was the most peaceful sleep they had in a long time.

Victor was in his study, remembering the words his grandson said to him earlier. He remembered hearing that this new girl in his sons life was a gold digger, but he also got the feeling that his grandson was after this mystery girl. He really didnt know what to believe. He instantly called Henderson into the study. "Henderson, tell me. Is my son home yet?" Victor asked, impatiently. "I assume so, Sir. His car is in the garage." Henderson replied. Victor was pleased that his son was home and not out with that mystery girl. He decided that he would go check on his son so that he could talk to him about this girl.

Victor gently knocked on Philips door, when he got no answer he decided to step inside. Once he got inside, he nearly screamed. He thought Brady was lying, but asleep in his sons arms was this young girl weaning only a t-shirt. He watched the two for a moment, they both looked at peace. They where holding on to each other like they had no other choice. It was like, if they let go, the other would disappear. Victor didnt know what to do. He didnt like the fact that his sixteen year-old son was in bed with a young girl, and he detested the fact that she might only be interested in his son for his money. He decided that, that could not happen. Philip softly stirred in his sleep, when he got the impression that he was being watched. Thinking it was Chloe he smiled, then he opened his eyes, to be faced by a very angry Victor.

Philip nearly fell of the bed, he was laterally that scared of his father. He slowly made his way out of Chloe gasp and out of his room so that his dad could talk to him, without waking Chloe. "Do you mind telling me, what you are doing in bed with that girl?" Victor asked, in a harsh tone. Philip looked his father right in the eyes. "It is not what it looks like. Nothing happened. We are just friends. She just needed someone to be there for her." Philip said strongly. Victor didnt by it. "So you are telling me, that two friends sleep together, because one of them, needs comfort. Do you honestly think I would by that?" Victor shouted. Philip knew that he couldnt back down. "Listen dad, you dont know, what going on. If you knew, you would understand. I know what Im doing. She needs a friend, she doesnt have anyone." Philip pleated. "Where, are her parents. Do they know that she is here?" Victor asked. Philip looked liked a little boy when he tried to answer. "Thats the thing. Dad, if I tell you something, you have to promise me that you will not say a word of this to anyone. Do you swear?" Philip asked, awaiting for a response. Victor looked at his son. "Al right, son. You can tell me anything. You have my word, I will not repeat a word you say to me." Victor said, leading his son into his study. Closing the door Philip began to tell what he knew about Chloe, her parents and her foster father. "I dont know the hole story, but I do know he beats her. She wouldnt tell me, but it wasnt the first time. A couple of days ago, she called me late at night crying. When I asked her what was wrong she wouldnt tell me, but the next day she came to school with bruises on her face. Thats why she is always in black I guess. And today when I took her home, she made it clear to me to stay away for her house. Once she got inside a heard some things braking and her screaming and crying, I cam in just in time to knocked the guy unconscious and take her here. She doesnt want to go back there, and I wont let her. You have help me, help her, dad. Please." Philip nearly begged his dad. Victor looked at his son. "This girl better be worth it." Victor thought. "And she better not be a gold digger." He said to himself. "Okay, Philip, I will help you out. I will put this low life away, I will even help find her real parents. But there is one condition." Philip couldnt believe his ears. "Anything, dad. Just name it." Victor sat in his chair and looked at his sons determination. "Thats not important, right now. I will tell you when it when the time comes." Victor smiled. Philip was very grateful, he quickly said goodnight, to his dad and went back to bed.

Once he got into his room, Chloe woke up. "Hey, I just talked to my dad." Philip said. "Did you, what did he say." Chloe asked. "Well, what do you want most in the world?" Philip asked. Chloe just looked at him. "I dont know, find my family I guess." Philip smiled for ear to ear. His dimples shining through. "What are you so happy about?" Chloe asked. "Well, thats what my dad is going to do, help you find them." He said, while picking her up and swinging her around in the air. "Oh my God, I cant believe you, you are the best. If there is anything I could do for you, just name it. I owe you so much." Chloe said crying tears of joy while hugging Philip tight. "No, you dont owe me nothing. I just want you to be happy. Thats all." Philip said. Victor entered Philips room, when he witnessed Chloe hugging his son. "Well I see that you are up." Victor said in his usual tone. He didnt want to seem rude, but he still didnt trust this girl. "I just want to say, Thank you Mr. Kiriakis, you dont know how much this means to me. But are you sure you can find my parents?" Philip let out a small laugh. "Trust me, my dad can find anybody." Philip said. "Well, young lady, I made a call to the police station and they are taking your foster father to jail. Apparently he had some other chargers against him. But there is one problem, because you are a minor you will have to be placed in another foster home or an orphanage." Chloe fainted when she heard that. Luckily Philip caught her, before she fell on the ground. "Dad, she cant go back, can she stay here. Just for a little while, until we find her parents?" Philip asked, he was literally begging his dad, to let her stay. As he placed her gently on his bed, he looked at his father for some response. But Victor only left the room. A confused Philip, just laid down next to Chloe and he held her in his arms. Even though his dad, didnt tell him the answer, he knew the response, and he was soon asleep.
