E 4 "Ho-Bugt" from Esbjerg, Denmark.
16 m combined musseldredger and beamtrawler. This vessel is built for fishing mussels in the law waters along the North Sea coast near Esbjerg. In periods, where the mussel fishing is closed the vessel can use beam trawl else where on the west coast or traditionel trawl anywhere.
The restrictions for the dimensions of vessel for that mussel fishing is also max 15,99 m overall. Further max limits on hold volume, engine output, minimum draft and maximum tonnage give some of the official design criterias. Next those criterias must be combined as much as possible with the owners criterias.
With that information we designed the vessel in co-operation with the buyer, in this case Mr. Carsten Andreasen and skipper Mr. Boerge Jensen.
Only a few vessels have permission for fishing mussels in that area. Combined with a very restrictive policy from the Danish ministery of Fishing, it was only possible to built this vessel, because the owners had another vessel, from which they could transfer the licence to the new vessel.
The old vessel can no more be used for fishing again
