SK 961 "Musse" from Glyngoere, Denmark.
16 m musseldredger for fishing on the east coast of Jutland, which is a rather restricted fishing - only a few vessels have the permission.
The danish ministery decided during the design period of the vessel to make a max length overall on such vessels to be 16 m. (Only 12 m inside the Limfjord)
Owner John "X" Hansen wanted a vessel which could give him the opportunity to go away from the coastline - to spread the activities on a larger area, but with the decission of the 16 m, the load capacity was reduced, so the profit of going longer out from the coast have reduced.
The vessel was designed to fullfill as many of the skippers wishes as possible. From Skagen fishing vessel S 491 "Kicoli" the wheel house was reused again, but the mess aft was cut away and a new mess could be arranged in the roof below the wheel house.
The vessel could only be built, because the owner could use the license from an old vessel with the same tonnage. The old vessel can not be used for fishing again.
