Hi, glad to meet you! My name is Debbie Madden, I started making teddy bears just before I went to my first teddy bear show with my mom (who is an even bigger teddy bear fan than I am). I was totally fascinated that there were other people out there who felt the same way about teddy bears as I did. I joined the MO-KAN Teddy Bear Society and Good Bears of the World the next month.
I have been making teddy bears for 7 years. I made a few bears from patterns from the teddy bear magazines but they just didn't feel like they were mine, so I designed my own patterns. After a lot of trial and error I finally came up with something I was happy with. I make all my bears by myself with the exception of some tracing and cutting that my family helps me with.
If you are wondering why I call them Those D.A.M. Bears you are not alone I get that question a lot. Well D.A.M. happens to be my initials. Naming my company was like naming one of my children only a lot less serious (my 3 children have normal names) I had a lot of names suggested to me by family members and friends but ultimately chose Those D.A.M. Bears because I think it fit me the best. With all that said I hope you enjoy my site and hope to see your entry in my guest book.
