- 2 cups baking soda (1 pound package)
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 1/4 cups cold water
- Stir together baking soda and corn starch in a pan.
- Add water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- When mixture is the consistency of moist mashed potatoes, turn out on a plate and cover with a damp cloth.
- When cool enough to handle, let the artist in you come out.
- Color may be added to the clay using food coloring while kneading, or painting after the object has dried.
- A shiny glaze can be applied to the finished objects with clear varnish, liquid plastic, or 1 or 2 coats of fingernail polish.
