Prepare extra questions, just in case. 4. Select questions that will not be offensive. 5. Remember to give a brief overview of table topics for visitors at the beginning of the session. 6. Encourage participants to use the word of the day. 7. Call on members who are not participating in the meeting to go first. 8. Call on participants at random. Avoid going around the room. 9. When selecting a topic remember, table topics are meant to be fun, don't try to "catch" someone 10. Try to come up with some new ideas; - Ask members tell a story passing off from one table topics speaker to another. - Request the member pull three words from a hat and then weave a story about the three words. - Have a debate between two members, 1 minute each then 2, 30 second rebuttals each. - Cut a headline (the more cyptic the better) from the newspaper and ask the member to speak about it. |
