I'm presuming and hoping that you're in California. Marami na tayong prep 66er diyan. Let's not wait for y2k. Magreunion muna tayo diyan.

CC: Manny Canillas <[email protected]> & prep '66ersDear Bobby del Pilar,
It was nice of you to look up Manny. I have been always looking you up. Now that you have appeared, lets stay in contact. Do you intend to stay in the US? We have a list of classmates there scattered all over, including Vancouver. Perhaps Manny can send it to you? please confirm Manny,
otherwise I can also locate the file in the office.
How are you? The addresses above are all the classmates on line. Last Tuesday, Jerry hosted a party for Butch Garcia who is here in the PI with his family. It was well attended. We had myself, Jerry, Manny, EQ, Eric Ragas, Butch and family ( his youngest is a 5 year old daughter), Emong Dominguez, Junie Zaballero, Ed Umali and Arlette, Josie Angeles, Lily Pineda, Guily Lazaro, Jess Lucas, Lawrence Tumaneng, and did I miss anyone? We good food, good fun, including a chat with Neph Medina who was celebrating his golden birthday. We had to have the party on Tuesday, because Jerry leaves with the Pres for New Zealand today. If you don't know, Jerry is the current Prez Spokesman, and EQ is a Usec for the Public Works.
We would like to know what is happening out there in Tracy (I could not trace in the world atlas) ? Take care and God bless you.

Would you be needing your Prep '66 Annual for tomorrow?
got your response and i am very happy to know that a lot of us care to get in touch with each other. now,let me see... where do i start telling you what happened to me ? after pma might be an interesting chapter to begin with. i belong to the "martial law" babies of class 1972. it was a very frustrating year to be incorporated in the afp because it ushered in the politicalization and corruption of the military. i wanted to resign as early as 1974 but dad wanted to burn all myuniforms, diploma, citations and anything that would remind him of my military service. too much drama but what really stopped me from quitting is the thought of leaving the service to the dogs. i realized i will not be alone in making a differenceand that there were other officers and soldiers who dreamed of a professional organization too. thus the twenty two years five months and five days of blood, sweat and tears.
my stint as the commander of the 12th infantry battalion - leading the fight against the secessionist movers and the communist rebels gave me the satisfaction of having served the country well and that then was the time to rest and become an ordinary but responsible citizen once again. with my retirement benefit, i paid in full a five-hectare lot owned by brig. gen. carreon. it was a cogonal area but with the help of two rebel commanders who happened to surrender to me when i was still in the service, i began a project. the five hectares were incorporated in two titles and thefore i had them segragated in nine titles. four parts i planted with bananas [lacatan] variety.three parts i set aside for reforestation [y,gmalina, neem tree, fruit trees]. two parts, i began a housing subdivision. all these projects i had financed by a loan ... the subdivision is taking quite a while. i have submitted an application for excemption with the dept of agrarian reform two years ago and it was approved only last june of 1999.
as i have told you in my first mail, i came here in the usa,by the way, only last year to work...save and go back, if god wills,to the farm.

I also hope that you won't mind my forwarding your messages to our batch.

i attempted to chat with you guys but iam still unfamiliar in the operation of this wonderful machine called a "computer". the web site address i am using belongs to my nephew; the eldest son of my younger sister. the computer, of course belongs to him too.
i am in tracy, california - almost two hours from san francisco. i will be most happy to welcome you when you are here. just give me a lot of time to prepare 'cuz i am a small indian here, not even owning a car. i go to and from my place of work on a bike.
going back to my first e-mail sent to you, i have always had getting in touch with you in my mind. i wanted to share the stories of men and events that became a part of our controversial history. i happened to be in the middle if not close to it.men like ex-president marcos, ninoy aquino, gen ver, jose maria sison, victor corpus and events like the "jabidah",martial law,the edsa revolution, the coup 'de-tat and more. i have heard of many prepians sacrificing even their lives for idelogies, principles and convictions that crimsoned our generation. we were pawns but who knows what could have happened and what our country's situation will be if we failed to participate. i know of one thing though - what moved us to fight, no matter on whose side, was the prevailing social neglect and injustice in our society.we failed to see that we can do only so less to affect a gargantuan problem that may seem to last a lifetime.i am thankful we are in touch again and communicating with you brings back the years when we seemed not to have serious cares but fun. the "jesters",our mentors, young loves and many extra curricular activities.
i have no plans of making the united states my home. i am very much intrigued by my life in the farm where every new day brings new challenges. it is so much fun and gratifying to watch things grow. in the countryside, many less fortunate neighbors of mine never forget to pass by and ask for water and whatever food i am able to share with them. in that place, i am always in touch with the realities of life. friends may turn out to be adversaries and enemies may become loyal friends. i will share this experience with you someday.

CC: Manny Canillas <[email protected]> & prep '66ersDear Bobby,
Norma, sorry I missed you. E kasi you were looking so different from the rest of us who looks 34 years older and you don't.
Bobby, my hats to you. I always believed that prep grads were some different - values, values and more values - and you confirmed it. My hats off to you fellow prepian who believes in hard honest work. There is only admiration from me for your value in work and your courage to speak out. I remember you turned down a offer from a private company to stay with the military for a cause. I will retire from being pres of the company next march, maybe I'll join you in a fish farm in Iloilo. The seas are quickly being depleted of marine life and our countrymen will suffer the consequences which is high cost of fish. There is a possibility of raising all male, marine tilapia which tastes excellent. Everytime EQ starts playing golf well during the round, I talk about Tilapia and that does the trick. Anyway I have been researching about it over the web and came across a US scientist Tom Tsai and Franic Domingo of Bacolod who has experience with it.
I hope your stay in the US will be short and your coffers will fill up quickly. Good to know Tess is there too and your children are well settled. Minggoy's is still there but I know of a better place for spanish food. God bless you.
