They did all these: celebrated Armi's golden birthday,
planned for the Grand Reunion, and sent off Toots
and Norms.

we all met at "a taste of l.a." on alejandro roces
ave., just off timog ave. owned by armi's
sister
and brother-in-law, junet galvez. armi was
the
gracious host, doing a delayed hosting for his
50th birthday.
we met to plan the grand reunion in december at
subic bay, and to send off tootsie de
jesus-bolnick and norma sarino, who are going back
home in the u.s.
enjoy the pix.
nice job benj!
nice
pictures, appropriate wittily truthful captions
whose camera was used? was it digital?
the mix of reunion planners was also perfect. 5 girls to 10 guys.
hope we get more stories on the reunion planners meet from the others.
they got some 30 pix, kaya't marami pang ipapalabas yan.
there were 17 of
us -- ray, dewes, sonny, ed u, boyet, benji, jess, armi,
guilly, boo, lily,
liz, beckey, norms, toots and moi at isang waiter. marami-raming
kwento at
pakulo esp. this thing to draw ernie out which we will
talk about there for
as long as liz remains low tech. boo says there is now
an ernie e fans club
here in the phil. including a colleague of my 81 year
old biyenan who claims
she reads only ernie and she knows i,m good because i
belong to ernie's
biyenan ko and so on.
jess and i compared our skeds. we'll both be in SF may
10-12 before we fly
back to manila. butch, here's another assign for you.
manny, can we also meet up in LA on the 23rd?
will somebody alert perry a, hindi pumapasok and e-mail
ko sa kanya, mura
siguro and bayad niya.
EQ
guys, if eq can't handle a simple camera, i wonder
how he can beat you all at golf. you must really
be awful! i'd probably be able to play with you
using the handle of an umbrella. mwah-ha-ha-ha!
benj
Benjie, that's a good come back... See, EQ is a good delegator,
that's his
style.
About golf, good question/comment. There's only one way
to find out, tee to
green, right, EQ>RAY>JESS? But just in case, I
will see my pro instructor
starting Friday for a couple of one on one lessons.
I dont mind losing, at
least I "looked good" swinging.
Reno
Once lang. Hows vacation. Inip ka raw kahihintay
kay EQ. We had a good
one last tuesday. 17 attended, Armi treated
everyone. Hats off to him.
Norma and Toots was there aongst others. Wish you
could have been with us.
Ray
hats off to Armi too (Happy belated bday, ARMI!!!)
i truly missed that reunion. thats the first time we
had two
out-of-towners [read:town as country] if we dont include
you and joey,
who's always out of town:-)
of course Norms (who with her 4 times a year visits to
the philippines)
could be more technically classified as an in-and-out-of-towner:-)
mannyfc
Dear classmates,
17 of us met last Tuesday at Taste
of LA. We had dinner care of Armi dela
Cruz. Briefly, we need some comments from you regarding
the following tentative
program we had discussed.
Dec 15 - Friday - arrival at Subic
Dec. 16 - Saturday - AM and noontime program
Twilight criuse and gala dinner at
Yacht Club, reservation tentatively for
50 people.
Dec 17 - Sunday - free time
We have only 6 rooms at the yacht club at 100 dollars
per night for friday and
sat. nights. This under R Dan and Joselito Aseniero's
name. Additional rooms
under member's name would be at 200 dollars per night
which is too much in our
opinion. We can have more rooms at 100 dollars if we
can have more members to
sponsor 3 rooms each. Additional rooms are being
arranged at forest hills by
Liz at this time. We need some indications from you who
wants to take the rooms
at Subic Yacht club. We are planning also to arrange
for a bus service to and
from Subic. Please indicate who wold like to ride
in the bus.
We need to arrange for the accomodations for the classmates
from abroad. Kindly
indicate who may be coming so we can arrange for your
homestay.
Ed umali needs picures from us to make a video/slide presentation.
We would
burn it into a CDROM for each to take home as souvenir.
Please indicate your
willingness to help in this endeavor.
Hoping to hear from you.
Ray Dan
If you need additional members from the Subic Yacht Club
to sponsor guests,
please let me know, and I can ask my brother to do so.
I am almost sure
that he would not consider it too much of a bother.
All the best,
Butch
pasiensiya na kayo at nabitin kayo in the last email that
i sent by
i hope you were
not bombarded by it (ditto w/ my other past emails),
i kept on
committing the same mistake.
i was really glad i made it to the mini-reunion at "taste
of l. a. cafe"
last apr 6. manny -- maraming maraming salamat
for your
thoughtfulness. bilib na talaga ako sa 'yo.
you managed to announce my
trip to mla, told the group about my
mom, may mga follow-up pa! sa
totoo lang, kayang-kaya mong i-replace si erap! (this
is not a joke!).
armi de la cruz was such a gracious host -- thank you
so much, all the
food served were first class and masarap! armi,
salamat din sa sister
mo for allowing you to be the host at her restaurant
and making the rgt
enjoyable.
to all the attendees the reunion-get-together (rgt):
it was nice seeing
all of you after all these years. thanks for setting
aside your
valuable time for meeting w/ me and norms. na-flatter
talaga ako,
because i felt important! i also felt that we are
closer now
(sectionwise, that is) than we were in high school.
there seems to be
more unity and camaraderie and, consequently, more bonding
(malapit na
talaga akong maiyak!).
lily -- i appreciate your calling me at home several times
about the
reunion/meeting.
becky -- ganoon din sa iyo for fetching me from our house.
guilly -- thanks for being the tagahatid ng mga girls
(kasama na ako
doon!) after the rgt. it was also fun having your
company and the
girls' in your car.
the rgt really inspired me to try to make it to the grand
reunion in
subic kahit magastos. malay niyo, it could happen!
(you never know,
baka tumama ako sa lotto. i guess i should start
playing it now).
norms -- thank you for inviting me over to calif., from
where we may fly
to mla for the subic reunion.
and last, but not least, thank you so much for patronizing
the paintings
of my brother paeng de jesus (i'm proud to say that he
is the only
two-time awardee of gold medal (first prize in painting)
in the history
of the art association of the philippines) -- to becky,
benjie, eq,
lily, liz and ray dan. the earnings from the sale
will go a long way
and help my brother in his medical needs (he has cancer;
but not to
worry, he made a lot of progress after chemo and his
doctors say that he
is on his way to being cancer-free).
i love you all!
susan ('toots')
