TURN ON WORD WRAP TO VIEW!

A cooperative effort between Chris Grall, Ilkka Tahvanainen, John Keane, Carl Zoch and Kim Simmelink.

FORWARD
-------
This cooperative "freeware" effort is dedicated to all those who have gone before, who have made the conscious decision to provide quality aircraft for the enjoyment of all, without seeking monetary gain from this hobby. After all the enjoyment must come from what you give not from what you get. In the course of this our second project as a group we have had the opportunity to work together, we have shared ideas, and helped each other over the rough spots. It has been a wonderful experience. Finally this aircraft is dedicated to all the flight simmers out there, may this encourage you to join together and created aircraft of your own, making the files available to all, for the love of the hobby. *KBS*

This aircraft requires FSFS to operate in FS5.1.
Copy all .*af files to your /textures directory
Copy the .air file to your /pilots directory

This aircraft DOES not require FSFS. However we recommend that you get the convertor for FS6. The convertor modufies the Panelset.cfg file that is needed to have an instrument panel with this aircraft/

HISTORICAL STUFF
---------------
The 767 was designed to work in tandem with the 757 and is becoming more versatile. The transport originated in the 200 series. An extended range version became available in the ER series, and a stretched 300 series was followed by three new configurations to meet a variety of long-range roles.
Originally the 767-200 was designed to wedge itself between the two basic body types - wide body and narrow bodied transports. A new cabin size of 15 feet 6 inches was adopted, which compares with the 747's 20 foot 1 inch interior. Amenities of the wide body were retained by the 767: specifically the twin aisle cabin, an 80 inch high ceiling, and cabin stowage space nearing two cubic feet per passenger.
The 767 has lead the way for twin-engine transports in long range overwater and other extended range operations. The aircraft operate under specific rules. They are equipped with an auxiliary power unit to keep flight systems operating in case of shut down of one engine. There are special cooling devices for computers and more fire extinguishers than typical for added protection. The 767 has the power to operate for extended periods on a single engine, and even can put up some impressive numbers without any engines as the following story will illustrate:
An Air Canada 767 provided one of commercial aviation's greatest dramas when on July 23, 1983 the plane flew for 15 minutes without any engine power after experiencing a double flame out due to fuel starvation. The plane was cruising at 40,000 ft. when due to improper fuel conversion of metric weight and volume information, both engines flamed out. The crew glided for 15 minutes to a flaps up landing at a former Canadian military airfield. According to Boeing officials the aircraft established a record for a glide in terms of the aircraft's weight and altitude. In other words, it was the biggest and highest-flying powerless aircraft ever brought down to a safe landing.
