WHAT IS WAR? A REMEMBRANCE DAY POEM

By: Monique Dufault, 1998+ Web Site administrator, 1997-1998 vice-president.

What is war?

War is evil,
It can amount to no good.

War is misleading,
It promises of glorious triumph when there can only be sadness.

War is a drug,
It seems exciting at first but eventually kills.

War is a disease,
It snuffs out innocent lives one by one.

War is a thief,
It steals lives and limbs.

War is a mistake,
One will never forgive himself for killing an innocent soul.

Waris eternal,
A country will never truly forgive its captor.

War is a broken bridge,
It prevents people from uniting.

What is war?
War is a dead end that brings us nowhere,
Peace is the only way out.
