The Hydropiper Story

The story of Hydropiper is told in several different books, one being " Samuel Haycrafts book, "Haycraft's History of Elizabethtown, Kentucky" has described Dr. Geoghegan's discovery as, "a powerful medicine, composed of prickly ash, smart weed, walnut leaves, brandy and sugar, so concocted as to produce a pleasant medicine called "Hydropiper" - no doubt a very valuable discovery, and its merits not yet fully tested. In partnership with Dr. Young and Slaughter, a large quanity was manufactured-still not sufficient to meet the demands, for its fame spread far and near."
