These Photos were taken at Antietam National Park, the site of the Bloodiest single day's battle ever recorded on the North American Continent. Located next to the small town of Sharpsburg, Maryland, the name given the battle by the South, this battle was considered the first major turning point of the war. General Lee had been stopped for the first time discouraging intervention by foreign countries supporting the South.
